About Me

Hello, I'm Jim Fisher, a seasoned SaaS Sales leader with extensive experience in all things GTM. Sales is the most critical component of GTM but it’s just one part of the whole and it will never be successful without the other parts of the business - Marketing, Customer Success, Pre-Sales, Professional Services.

Most recently, I was VP of Sales at Tonic.ai, joined them just after the got their Series B. Before that I spent 8 years at Cloudera from pre-IPO, to IPO, to merging with our biggest competitors, back to being a private company. Prior to Cloudera, I got my initial sales experience at Oracle and Accenture was where I started my career in consulting, before that.

Each company I’ve joined was (unintentionally) smaller than the one before that. I’ve found myself attracted to early stage businesses and all the excitement and learning that comes from growing a business.

I think the best ideas come from all around of us and I’m learning something new every day. This newsletter was my attempt to capture and share the great ideas I’ve gotten from others about building SaaS businesses.

I spend my days working with early stage businesses as a GTM Advisor and Fractional CRO, helping CEOs and co-founders scale out their GTM functions.
